Why did the so-called Kaaba Seizure in 1979 occur though the Kaaba is protected?

The issue you mention is important. As a matter of fact, this issue was briefly mentioned and the following explanation was given in the answer:
“But Allah was not going to send them a penalty whilst thou wast amongst them; nor was He going to send it whilst they could ask for pardon.” (al-Enfal, 8/33) It is because, in accordance with the divine promise, its people are guaranteed that they will not be punished as long as the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) is among them and as long as they seek forgiveness from Allah.
It was stated that in the explanation that as long as the conditions mentioned above were met, the Kaaba and the things in it were under protection. Therefore, it is understood that with the disappearance of those conditions, security will be removed. The hadith foretells such a time. Accordingly, the verse binds the protection of the Kaaba to certain conditions.
All Muslims, especially the people of Makkah must be very sensitive about this issue and avoid committing sins that could cause such a calamity.
It is also explained that the protection of the Kaaba and its surroundings is in terms of being safe from the wrath of Allah, not from the harms of people. From this point of view, it is seen that there is no contradiction between the verses and hadiths.
Some scholars state that it is one of the signs of Doomsday.
