THE MATHEMATICAL MIRACLE OF THE QURAN, THE SOURCE OF MIRACLES

Allah created man only to worship Him and to make religion belong to Him. He sent prophets to make people worship Him, not to associate partners with Him, and to explain how this duty of worship should be in accordance with the books He sent down to His Messengers.

Every prophet needed a miracle confirming and supporting him against his people that what he brought was from Allah. The miracle had to be a challenge to those who worshipped beings other than Allah. For example, the miracle of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was as follows: When he broke the idols that people worshipped besides Allah, his own people grabbed him and threw him into the fire. The fire was real fire. Ibrahim was put into this fire in front of everyone but he came out of it unharmed... So, what was the reason for it? There must have been a great force to stop the burning property of fire. The Lord of the realms said, “O fire! Be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham.” Was it possible for those shattered idols command the fire to burn Abraham? That was the challenge and a miracle...

The Prophet Jesus (Isa) was sent as a prophet to a people who were advanced in medicine. So, his miracle was in medicine. He cured blindness and treated vitiligo disease. The challenge reached its climax and Jesus, son of Mary, resurrected the dead with Allah’s permission.

The Prophet Moses (Musa) was sent as a prophet to a people who were advanced in in the science of magic, and his miracle was about magic. His staff (wand) turned into a fast snake as soon as he threw it and swallowed all the magic of the others. The challenge reached its climax when he hit the sea with his staff and Allah stopped the water’s ability to sink. A road stretched out for Moses and those who believed with him to pass. Afterwards, Almighty Allah gave water back its property; then, Pharaoh and his army sank... They are some of the material miracles with which Allah supported His prophets.

Then, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) came. His prophethood had some features not found in the previous ones:

Firstly: He was not sent to any tribe, but to the whole world.

Secondly: He was the last of the prophets. There will be neither prophethood nor a prophet after him.

Thirdly: His miracle is a miracle that will continue as long as the life of this world continues; he brought the Quran in Arabic.

Even this miracle alone is a source of miracles. The Lord of the worlds calls out to humans and jinn saying,

“Say, ‘If the whole of mankind and Jinn were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.’” (al-Isra, 17/88)

He also says,

“And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.” (al-Baqara, 2/23)

This challenge targeted the Arabs, who were advanced in Arabic, the language of the Quran. At the same time, this was a challenge that will exist against all realms until Doomsday in every field where human means will reach... Allah, the Provider (ar-Razzaq), opened doors that would enable His servant to understand the verses of the Quran through the blessing of His mercy in order to show a field that reminds him of one of the miraculousness of the Quran with the challenge “Come on, bring a similar surah.” This field is the field of numerical miracle of the Quran presented by Abdurrazzaq Nawfal. May Allah reward him, the Muslims and everyone who reads this miracle and believes in it with the Quran.

The numerical miraculousness of the Quran reveals - in our opinion - three essential truths for everyone living in this age:

First truth: The Quran was not written by a human being; it is from Allah.

Second truth: There has been no change, displacement or distortion in the Quran since the moment it was sent down up to the present day.

Third truth: The Quran is a miracle that will continue until the Day of Judgment.

Consequently, when a person sees these facts clearly, he will have no choice but to believe in Allah, His prophet and His clear book, and to affirm them. From this point of view, acting in accordance with the Quran and what it brings will be the only separating and just border between guidance and aberration. Nawfal states the following in his book entitled the Numerical Miracle of the Quran:

This miraculousness is a positive and material miracle that does not accept arguments and cannot be disputed. It is an indisputable miracle because the language of numbers is distinctive... The words of numbers and calculations are definite.”

A STUDY REGARDING THE ISSUE:

The Quran has had an easy and understandable language that can be understood by every group of people living in every age since the day it was revealed. The perfection of its literary language, its unique stylistic features and the superior wisdom it contains are among the most important reasons for it. In addition, the Quran has many other miraculous features proving that it is the word of Allah. One of them is the remarkable repetitions of words in the Quran.

Allah sent down the Quran, a guiding book, 14 centuries ago and invited all humanity to attain salvation by following the Quran. The following is stated in the Quran

“...But it is nothing less than a Message to all the worlds.” (al-Qalam, 68/52)

The Quran will be the last divine book, the only guide for humanity, from the day it was revealed until the Day of Judgment. In addition to the fact that some scientific truths, which we attained only with the technology of the 20th and 21st centuries, were reported in the Quran 1400 years ago, it also possesses many miraculous features that prove it is the word of Allah. One of those features is its “mathematical miracle”s. An example of that miracle is the common number obtained by some word repetitions in the Quran. Some related words are miraculously repeated the same number of times. Below are such words and the number of their repetitions in the Quran.

The phrase “seven skies” is used 7 times. The expression “creation of the heavens (khalqu samawat)” is also repeated 7 times.

“Day (yawm)” is used 365 times as a singular word while its plural forms “days (ayyam and yawmayn)” are repeated 30 times. The number of repetitions of the word “month” is 12.

The number of repetitions of the words “plant” and “tree” is the same: 26

The word “punishment” is mentioned 117 times while the word “forgiveness”, which is one of the basic characteristics of the ethical values of the Quran, is repeated 234 times, exactly twice that number.

The word “say” is used 332 times. We get the same number when we count the phrase “they said”.

The word “world” and the word “hereafter” are also repeated the same number of times: 115

The word “Satan” is mentioned 88 times in the Quran. The number of repetitions of the word “angel” is also 88.

The word “belief” (without being in a phrase) and “unbelief” are repeated 25 times throughout the Quran.

The word “Paradise” and the word “Hell” are repeated the same number of times: 77.

The word “zakah” is repeated 32 times in the Quran while the number of times the word “abundance/blessing” is used is also 32.

The word “abrar (good ones)” is repeated 6 times while the word “fujjar (bad ones)” is repeated half as much, that is, 3 times.

The words “summer-hot” and “winter-cold” are repeated equally: 5 times.

The words “wine (hamr)” and “drunkenness (sakara)” are repeated the same number of times in the Quran: 6

The number of the repetitions of “reasoning” and “light” is also the same: 49

The words “tongue” and “sermon” are repeated an equal number of times: 25 times.

The word “benefit” is repeated 50 times and the word “destruction” is repeated 50 times.

The words “love” and “obedience” are repeated the same number of times: 83

The words “return” and “endless” appear in equal numbers in the Quran: 28

The word “misfortune” and the word “gratitude” exist the same number of times in the Quran: 75 times.

The word “sun (shams)” and “light (nur)” exist 33 times each in the Quran.

In the calculation, only the plain forms of the word “light” was taken into account.

The words “guiding (alhuda)” and “mercy” are repeated equally: 79 times

The word “distress” exists 13 times in the Quran and the word “peace” is also repeated 13 times.

The number of the repetitions of the words “woman” and “man” is also the same: 24

The word “treason” is used 16 times and word “malicious” is repeated 16 times.

The word “human” exists 65 times in the Quran; the sum of the number of stages of human creation is also the same.

The word salawat exists 5 times in the entire Quran, and Allah orders people to pray five times a day.

The word “land” exists 13 times in the Quran and the word “sea” exists 32 times. The sum of these numbers is 45. If we divide 13, which is the number of mentions of land in the Quran, by 45, we get the number 28.888888888889%. When we divide 32, which is the number of mentions of the seas in the Quran, by 45, we find the number 71,111111111111%. These ratios are the actual ratio of water and land parts on our planet. The Quran is the Word of Allah

The common numbers obtained by the repetitions of words in the Quran are just one of the clear proofs that the Quran is the word of Allah. Facts that could not be known by anyone at that time were reported in the verses, both in scientific issues, in the news from the past and the future, and in mathematical encryptions.

Every piece of information in the Quran, the unknown hidden miracles of this Divine Book, shows just one of the proofs of our Almighty Lord’s endless knowledge. The following is stated in a verse:

“...Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.” (an-Nisa, 4/82)
